Breast Enhancement

Breast Enhancement encompasses a suite of treatments that revolve around increasing the aesthetic quality of your breasts, and range from breast augmentation, breast lifts, nipple reduction and breast reduction. Whether you’re looking for fuller, rounder breasts or more manageable breasts, Dr Kuek will work closely with you to help you achieve your desired figure.

Breast Augmentation

Breast augmentation, or augmentation mammoplasty, is one of the most common cosmetic surgery treatments. Breast augmentation is typically done to enhance the size and improve the drooping of the breasts. They are also carried out to reconstruct the breast following significant weight loss, pregnancy or mastectomy.

Reasons to undergo breast augmentation vary from patient to patient. Some do it for personal reasons to boost their image and self-esteem, while some undergo the procedure to address conditions such as asymmetrical breasts, macromastia and other congenital chest deformities.

Types of Breast Enlargement Procedures

Dr Kuek performs breast enlargement using two methods: fat transfer or breast implants.

Body to Breast Contouring

Under the BBC (Body to Breast Contouring) method with Dr Kuek, you’ll benefit from large volume enhancements by using fat transfer in place of traditional breast implants. Fat cells are harvested from other body parts such as the abdomen or thighs. The fat is then processed, purified, and injected into the breast for an increase in volume of half to one cup. This also has the added benefit of removing fat from unwanted areas. It is important to note that this procedure is less invasive as compared to implants and is virtually scar-less.

This is generally considered to be safer as the fat harvested is from the patient’s body, decreasing the risk of rejection or infection, and the results are likely to last for a longer period of time.

Breast Implants

Breast implants involve surgically placing a silicone implant under the breast through incisions on the breasts or armpits.

Post-Surgery Recovery

Both breast augmentation methods of fat transfer and implants are done in an outpatient setting. In complicated procedures, some patients may be required to stay overnight for observation and monitoring. While both procedures have the same effect of increasing your bust size, the recovery process differs slightly for each option.

Breast Lifts

A breast lift, or mastopexy, is a surgical process to restore firmness and reduce sagging in the breasts caused by gravity, pregnancy and breastfeeding.

Mastopexy can also reduce the size of the areola, and many women turn to mastopexy because pregnancy and breastfeeding have left them with stretched skin and less volume in their breasts.

Furthermore, incisions and scars will be strategically placed so that they are as inconspicuous as possible and low-cut tops can still be worn after the recovery phase.

Breast Reduction

Breast reduction surgery, or reduction mammoplasty, is a surgical operation that is used to reduce the size of the breasts.

Dr Kuek performs breast reduction surgery to address issues arising from excessively large breasts or gynecomastia, which include:

  • Chronic neck, shoulder or back pain
  • Poor posture
  • Rashes or odour problems
  • Fungal problems
  • Headaches
  • Restricted physical activities
  • Difficulties choosing clothing

Nipple Correction Surgery

Nipple reduction is a fairly simple procedure that is used to reshape nipples that are overly projecting and tend to fold over or hang downwards. This condition is often seen in older women who have breastfed.

Nipple reduction can be done under local anaesthesia and you should be able to return to work 2 days after surgery.
