Ageing Eyelid Surgery

Eyelid surgery, or blepharoplasty, can rejuvenate and enhance one’s face and restore a person’s youthful visage by removing sagging skin or by modifying puffy bags of fat from the upper or lower eyelids.

Based on your requirements, Dr Kuek may target both the upper and lower eyelids in the same session. Some cases may require additional work with a brow lift to correct sagging eyebrows and deep lines in the forehead.

Lower eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) is a common procedure that is performed to reduce the heaviness of eyebags as well as to remove excess skin. Other complementary treatments that enhance this rejuvenating effect include Botox, fillers, fat injections, Ultherapy or Sygmalift.

You should expect to see results within a few weeks, and you’ll have more open, youthful and refreshed eyes.

Double Eyelid Surgery

Double eyelid surgery in Singapore is also a process that has been gaining popularity amongst many patients. This procedure creates an additional fold in the eyelid that is aligned with the natural eye contour and this makes the eye appear rounder, bigger and more energized. The treatment also has the added effect of having eyelids that are more receptive to makeup and exposes more of the eyelashes. Stitch and open blepharoplasty options are also available.

Fixing Tear-trough Deformity

Grooves under your eyes that extend towards your cheeks are medically known as a tear-trough deformity, and it often comes accompanied with dark eye circles. This can be caused by a genetic predisposition, lack of sleep, dehydration or discoloration of the skin.

Besides lower blepharoplasty, there are a few non-surgical ways to help improve this condition:

  • Hyaluronic Acid (HA) Filler Injection
  • Eye brightening serums.
  • Ultrasonic or radiofrequency collagen stimulation.

Depending on the severity of the condition, some tear troughs come with eye bags from fat prolapse and loose skin. These situations may require a combination of HA filler injections with lower eyelid or eyebag surgery to correct the problem.

Eyebrow Lift

Droopy eyebrows are often caused by aging, sun exposure and repeated muscle contractions, often giving you a tired or sad appearance. To counteract this effect, Dr Kuek performs eyebrow lifts to elevate the outer half of eyebrows and reposition your eyebrows to a more youthful position. This procedure also helps to reduce wrinkles on the sides of the eyes, colloquially known as “crows’ feet”, and treat any glabella frown lines you may have. Eyebrow lifts can be complemented with filler treatments to pump up your forehead and temples.

The treatment takes place in a single session in the clinic. There may be mild bruising and swelling that occurs, but that will subside within a week or two. The result is a younger, revitalized and more relaxed look that lasts for years.
