VelaShape is a painless, non-surgical fat reduction and body firming treatment with no downtime. It is designed to reduce cellulite and circumferential width of problem fat areas. VelaShape can be used to specifically target the abdomen, love handles and thighs. The treatment can also be applied to tighten loose skin after childbirth or to tone sensitive areas such as the neck, upper arms and inner thighs. We often use it as an adjunct to improve the result after liposuction.
This is achieved via a combination of infrared and radiofrequency technologies to create deep heating of fat cells, surrounding connective fibrous bands and the underlying dermal collagen fibres that cause cellulite. The technology used is a medley of heat, light, suction and massage.
Typically, 3-6 weekly sessions are required in total and you’ll be able to see results 6 to 8 weeks after your initial treatment session.

What causes cellulite to be formed?
Although an estimated 85% to 98% of women over the age of 16 have cellulite, there is no definite explanation for why cellulite occurs. There are a myriad of reasons that may lead to cellulite, ranging from an unhealthy lifestyle, genetics or hormonal changes.
How quickly will I notice a change in my body?
Gradual improvement of the treated area can be seen after the first treatment – the surface of the skin in the treated area will feel smoother and firmer. Circumferential reduction will be seen from the first to the second session, and cellulite improvement is noticed in as few as 4 sessions.
What sort of results should I expect to see?
In clinical studies, patients have reported an average reduction of 1 – 3 centimetres after 1 treatment. A recent study showed that 100% of patients had reduction of at least 1.5 cm.*

Is the treatment safe?

Are Velashape III treatments painful?
Most patients find VelaShape III™ sessions to be comfortable – like a warm deep-tissue massage. Each treatment is designed to accommodate your sensitivity and comfort level. It is normal to experience a warm sensation for a few hours after the treatment. Your skin may also appear pink for several hours.
